Evercopy Social Collector — Last updated: July 23, 2026
Evercopy Social Collector is a browser extension that helps marketing teams collect publicly available social media post data (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook) for competitive analysis purposes. It works exclusively with the Evercopy platform.
The extension collects only publicly visible information from social media profile pages you explicitly navigate to:
We do not collect:
The extension requests the cookies permission solely to check whether you are logged into the social media platform before starting a collection. This is necessary because some platforms show limited public data to logged-out users. We never read, store, or transmit your cookie values or session tokens.
Instagram's public "share count" for Reels/videos is only returned by Instagram's own mobile API endpoint (i.instagram.com), which requires the request to carry a mobile-app User-Agent header. Browser fetch() requests cannot set a custom User-Agent, so the extension uses a narrowly-scoped declarativeNetRequest session rule that rewrites the User-Agent header only for requests matching i.instagram.com/api/v1/media/*. No other site, request, or header is affected. The rule does not block, redirect, or read the content of any request — it only rewrites one header on one specific first-party Instagram API path so that publicly-visible share counts can be read using your existing logged-in Instagram session, the same way the rest of the extension already reads other publicly-visible post metrics.
Collected post data is sent exclusively to the Evercopy platform servers (*.evercopy.ai or *.beyond-advertising.com) associated with your authenticated workspace. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in your workspace's database.
We do not sell, rent, or share collected data with any third parties. Data flows only between the extension and your Evercopy workspace.
All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption. The extension follows Chrome's Manifest V3 security model with isolated content scripts and a service worker architecture.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
